Re: Tell Us about the Cocktail Shaker

The Cocktail shaker in question was by Desny, a famous Paris firm specialising in art deco silverware in the 1920's. This was a set of a shaker and six matching cups and very rare. Most expensive cocktail shakers tend to be figural in design (e.g. lighthouse, rooster, penguin, zeppelin, airplane, fire extinguisher etc. $2k -$15k for good originals) but this set appeals to both shaker and art deco collectors so competition is fierce, 32 bidders in this case. Picture of the set to follow via Jeff.
