For an early (Ed. Heuer signed) 3747 I think the missing T is alright.

Mark's explanation regarding the SWISS sounds reasonable. It's very hard to see from this picture, but what appears to be an offset SWISS could actually be an offset 6 o'clock marker. I am not sure if this marker aligns well with the chrono second hand in "zero" position and the 12 o'clock marker.
