Star at the back on your Seamaster?

Hi folks!

I was just told that the first versions of the Seamster Pro had problems with keeping the water out. A new version ("Waterres.") has a little star laser-carved into the back on the opposite side of the ser.numbers. Is this right? A watchmaker in Oslo told me this.
