Re: quartz vs. automatic
: My advice, Audie, as the owner of both quartz and automatic watches is to buy quartz. First of all the quartz model is less expensive despite it being much more accurate that the auto movement. Other than infrequent battery replacements it has been my experience that quartz watches require no maintenance whatsoever. I have some 20 years old that still keep excellent time and have never been repaired. Cannot say the same for my auto watches. The main purpose of buying a watch is to keep accurate time and no one will dispute that the quartz watch is much more accurate than the auto. One other advantage if you buy quartz and you wear more than one watch is that you can just put it on and forget it. The auto stops and requires resetting which is a nuisance.
I am interested in the Seamaster Pro Diver and wanted t o get
: your opinion on quartz vs. automatic. Fair price difference
: and I was interested in advantages vs. disadvantages of
: each. Also midsize vs. pro size. I have a 7 inch wrist and
: was unsure which to pursue. Is there a substanial weight
: difference?
