... all night long. Otherwise you wouldn't know that it changes date at 02:30. My Seamaster changes date at 23:56, 4 minutes before midnight. I don't think that there is any serious problem with your Speedy if the delay does not vary everyday.
About your first question, I don't think I have an answer here as I have never been so lucky to own one of such complication. Have you tried changing the day or date until a month cycle is reached? Maybe that will help.
