I can't agree with this statement
In Response To: Re: The Co-Axial Is Fine... ()

OMEGA watches are not the best!!!
NASA clearly thought otherwise !

They are nice looking...
This is a personal opinion. There are some models that I like & some that I don't. And that is a personal opinion too :-)

but clearly have mechanical problems with most of thier automatic watches.
I completely disagree with this. Over the years Omega have made millions of watches & a large number of these have been automatics.

I don't believe MOST of these have problems. I do believe SOME> of these have problems & it appears that, the more recent Automatic movements have a higher problem rate.

What I can state 100% as fact.

IF there had been problems with an automatic movement in , say, the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's or even the 90's Joe Public may not have heard about this. Since the Internet has appeared & Joe Public has access to it, the distribution of information has become MUCH easier & quicker.

Joe would probably not have heard of problem with a watch in Spain or Mexico, but due to the internet Joe can now.

One rarely reads of people praising a product or even just coming onto a forum & posting ( eg ) "I bought this watch, it does what it should".

It's more common to complain about a product than to praise it.

So did the models in the 50's... 80's have a higher problem rate ? - Joe has no idea. He also has no idea Omega failure rates are higher than other manufacturers.

I certainly wouldn't make any wild claims, without having any concrete facts behind my words.
