Re: Omega Ignorant in NYC. Please Help.

Elizabeth,

I think you're right on the ball. All Omega admires would love (actually need) an Omega Speedmaster in their collection! Unfortunately, the Speedmaster line is pretty large and vintage speedies can get pretty expensive. I've complied some pics for you to look at of current Omega offers (although the Broad Arrow is now discontinued) along with their ID model numbers and functions (all are chronographs). It may make things easier. When choosing a Speedy, the first choice that comes naturally to mind is the Speedmaster Professional Moon Watch (first on the list). If your husband would like a day, day, month, or moonphase indicator, you can choose those as well. Just keep in mind that dial colors vary widely, so you're not stuck with black for most of the models. Pick a model that you'd like and we could provide even more info about it.

For starters, may I suggest the Speedy Pro (official moon watch) or the Speedy Reduced (smallest and the cheapest!).

NOTE: These are not my pics, they were gathered using google search.

Keep in mind that there are many different variations among these watches (over 50!) so if one doesn't appeal to you in a small way, just tell us and we'll track the right one down!

Good hunting!
