Hi Douglas,
The picture is of a navy guilloche dialled Constellation from around 1974-75, not 1960s.
I note on the dealer's web page that he went into a bit of a rant about blue dials on 1960s Constellations. He clearly doesnt know what he is talking about in terms of 60s Connies.
My statement about blue dials (and then only on a 'special Jap Connie with a cal 752) is correct.
The Connie in question is powered by a super-thin Piguet calibre 712. Piguet was owned by the SSIH group and now supplies the movements for Blancpain. The 712 was a fine movement, although not considered by serious collectors to be an in-house power plant.
I expect the caseback number will be 157.0001 as this was one of the few round stainless models released at that time.
I would ask for pics of the caseback and movement to ensure youre getting what you pay for.
Hard to say what a SS version is worth, but I've seen them go on eBay for less than 600USD. The solid gold version with strap has sold in the past for around 850USD
Cheers
Desmond
