So, yes . . . Chuck has solved the mystery. As I was cleaning up dozens of Spam messages, I saw the "CQ de K4YK" and thought that it was one of the Spam messages . . . and so I deleted the message.
My apology to John and I hope that he will re-join the Forum sometime soon.

most of the Spam messages include what appear to be random strings of letters, either in the Subject line or in the body of the Message (or in both Subject and Message fields).
