Re: Some interesting tidbits about Ashford....

I e-mailed ashford.com with the same questions that I posted in my original message and received the following response:
--------------------------------------------------
Dear Customer,

Thank you for your interest in Ashford.com.
The watch you looked at in our retail store may not be the exact watch
that you've seen at the other stores. The Tag Heuer 6000 series has
several different watches in its category. All of the watches we sell
are exactly as they left the manufacturer. Serial numbers are intact,
and they come with all boxes, papers, etc. They are not refinished, or
manufacturers "seconds". To substantiate our claims, we offer a 30 day
return privilege for a full refund for any reason. You can take it to
any jeweler or appraiser to have it checked out. In addition, we are
members in good standing with the Better Business Bureau Online (we were
named winner of the 2000 Torch Awards for Excellence, Large Retail
Division, at the Houston Chapter BBB), The Jewelers Vigilance Committee,
and a few other organizations (NAWCC-A watch organization, and the
IWJG-International Watchand Jewelry Guild). Perhaps the most compelling
evidence is the fact that we are a publicly held company on the NASDAQ
exchange (ASFD). The SEC doesn't allow trading in a stock of a company
which engages in illegal activities. I hope this answers your questions
and gives you a confidence in making your purchase with us.

------------------------------------------------

I was hoping for a response that would address the specifics, such as why the engraving is missing from the back or why the logo was a different color. I have no problem with the black logo or the missing engravement, I would just like to find it documented somewhere that says "yes, TAG HEUER manufactured this model, with this logo, for sale in this region, e.t.c..."

I hope that I don't seem too picky or overly skeptical, I just want to be well informed of the details on the product I am buying.

Thanks again for your help.
