Re: Authorized vs. GM
In Response To: Re: Authorized vs. GM ()

: I,too, paid more from an authorized dealer. These gray market
: guys over the internet are very small shops...here today,
: gone tomorrow. What is worse is if the watch ever needs to
: go to Omega, they may refuse to service a watch without
: serial numbers (most grays have them filed off). If that
: happens, you're SOL. Buyer beware.

I could understand that Omega would not cover any problems as a warranty but if the person was going to pay to have them to do the work I would guess they would. The gray market watch is still a true Omega and most I would hope do not have problems durring there first year. If they do then they are not worth any price.. Has any one tried to return a watch without sreial number to Omega and been turned away? If the gray market people can sell at 45 to 50% off list and still make a profit what does that tell me about the margins the authorized dealers are taking.
