Re: How Do You Choose: 2531.80.00 or 2054.50.00??

After much mind mingling, lip biting and head scratching, I bought by "Bond's Choise" "Standard" SMP three weeks ago and can't be happier. Sure enough, the 2054 is more modern, but I think that only emphasize why I like my "original" SMP so much: it is timeless!!! It manages to be classic, understated, tasteful, yet sporty enough to be an every-day watch. And it's darn easy to read too! The 2054 is a bit too sporty for my tastes; wouldn't wear it with a tux. The 2531 I might. It is certainly dressier, but what I especially like is its aura of understated charisma. It's definitely a more distinctively unique design than the 2054. No wonder why it is James Bond's choice!

Seriously, whatever you like best. Quality-wise, I'm sure both are equal and mine is beyond reproach. I'm glad I did it in spite of the expense...

What an happy quandry!

: Hello all,
: I'm finally in a position where I will get one
: of these two watches. But which one? I like
: the color on the 2531.80.00 and the smaller
: dot markers but the hands seem a bit short.
: I like the black color on the 2054.50.00 but
: the dot markers seem too big, however the
: hands seem just the right length - but it
: also looks a bit like a Rolex. I was
: eventually going to get the bond watch until
: the 2054 came out.

: Have any of you faced this same dilemma and how
: did you finally decide?

: This will be my every day watch.
: Thanks!
