Looking at it again yesterday, it looked to me like it's been redialed.
a) The Speedmaster script with the rounder "S" and shorter "r" and the somewhat more delicate OMEGA logo look like those from the so-called Modern Speedmaster from Chuck's dial guide (see image)
b) the Swiss Made mark at the bottom of the dial isn't surrounded by "Ts"
c) the markers (trititum?) show almost no aging.
I'd agree with that Allen & add the following.
d) there doesn't appear to be a "step" around the edge of the minute markers. ie the dial ,except the subdial areas, is flat. There should be a noticeable "step" in the dial.
It is definately a new dial.
I'd also say the hands look too good.
& the Bezel is 100% definately a new bezel. You can tell this from the shape of the "C" in the word Tachymetre, the accent above one of the "E"'s & the fact that the number 275 isn't squashed up.
The caseback & movement look original. Comparing the caseback to the rest of the case, I'd also go so far as to say, I reckon the case is new. I don't think it's possible to have a caseback like that & not have any marks on the case. Sure the case could have been restored, but why not do some work on the case back too then ?
As for value... It SHOULD affect the value. If the case back was in amazing condition, the seller could be trying to sell the watch as "in amazing condition" & it may actually be worth a lot more. But IMHO a recased, redialed, rehanded & rebezeled '69 speedy isn't worth as much as the real-deal.
That's as I see it.
