Commiserations

Hi Jason,

I'm sorry to read this. I grew up around pets. Initially I couldn't understand why anyone would want to invest so much time & love into a pet that you would definately outlive. I tried to keep myself distant from the pets.

After a while, I came to realize that you have to remember the "good times" & appreciate the unconditional love that a pet shows you.

I'm now married & have a young son. I think it is vitally important, to my sons upbringing, that he is in an environment where feelings are freely given & shown. We (unfortunately) don't have a lifestyle that would suit a dog, so we have a cat. I know I will cry when he dies ( or disappears ).

I won't cry over a watch. ( & no I wouldn't swap the cat for a speedmaster either )

I feel your loss over Sirius. If you decide to get another dog, enjoy every day with him/her.

S.
