those are very helpful points to consider and I defer to you guys who are either directly in the business or have extensive experience as a collector.

My experience is very limited but I am intrigued by the exitence of the gray market.

No doubt, Omega is dedicated to protecting the
value of its fine product and the network of authorized dealers who , in essence , support that value.

Even though Omega may consider gray dealers as a "necessary evil" its hard not to see that these same dealers have a certain effectiveness in their ability to market
luxury watches.

I would love to be a fly on the wall
at Omega headquarters and hear whether they
cuss these renegades or smile when they run the numbers.

Bottom line,,, Omega produces an excellent line of watches and I am proud to own
three. 1. DeVille (gold) that my in-laws gave me 30 yrs ago 2. constellation that my in-laws gave me about 15 yrs ago and
3. my new Seamaster Planet Ocean that I bought from a gray dealer( but honestly
didn't really know what I was doing ---- I thought if Amazon endorsed a vendor that it was 100% legit)
