Haven't really heard of a problem with the GMT
In Response To: Problem with GMT SMP Co-axial ()

: Hi folks,

: I bought a Seamaster pro GMT a few years ago and wear it
: occasionally. Now I went to use it and while setting the time
: and date it appeared to be a bit stiff to wind and the hour hand
: will not pass 12 o'clock when it needs to change the date
: (midnight) It will do it if I wind normally with the minute hand
: but not when I use the hour quick change function. It will also
: not go past 12 when running. The hour hand just stays before 12.

: This watch couldn't have been used for more than a week in total
: and needless to say I am very disappointed that it has a problem
: like this. I bought it off a reputable dealer (found here) and
: have all the paper work still at home (I am away working). A
: casio would have been more reliable.

: I guess my only option is to send it to an Omega dealer and hope it
: doesn't cost a fortune to fix but I would be very interested in
: hearing from anyone having a similar problem or suggestions
: here. Thanks

Sorry to hear of your problem. The coaxial models have a 3 year warranty, is it still covered? It sounds like it does need to be looked at by a pro. And yes, a Casio would have been more reliable(or any other quartz watch for that matter), or at the very least just throw it away and buy a new one if it breaks. Why did you seldon wear the watch?

Keep in mind that your watch is mechanical and like a car or anything else is subject to breakdowns for a number of reasons. The Omega coaxial caliber in the seamaster is usually very reliable. Hope its nothing serious.
