I have received the following story and photos from Joseph Sadri, a regular reader who knows a thing or two about chronographs, and the oversized guys, in particular - - -
Hi all, not a Heuer but I thought as a fan of vintage chronograph watches I submit this picture.
This all started as a project almost 10 years ago way before Ebay and growth of internet. As I was walking around in a small town in Athens Texas, here was this jewelry store that had this watch sitting behind the window with a bluish color dial all dusty and I really could not tell what it was. make the story short, after few hundred bucks it was sitting in my car on my way to the airport going home.
I guess the myth of finding that perfect vintage jewel in a small sleepy town at that Mr. Johnson's jewelry store became a reality for me. Wouldn't it be nice if this was still the case......?
