: One that wouldn't have 25% of the screen
: dedicated to a menubar and one that doesn't
: eat posts in long threads (like in the
: perforated straps thread)?

We appreciate your suggestions. Most computers use 1024x768 or greater resolution these days--where there is a whole lot more screen room. But we try to make the experience as usable as possible for those still running 800x600.

First, realize that YOU already have a lot of control. Using options already available in both your web browser and this forum, you can tweak the fonts and views quite a bit!

Try setting your browser font size to a smaller setting. On Internet Explorer, select View, Text Size. There is a similar setting on Netscape.

Next, try the SET PREFERENCES option on the blue menu bar on this forum. You can select from several alternate view of messages, making longer threads easier to follow.

With those two options, you will likely be able to resolve the cramped view you get under your low resolution screen.
