Re: Omega Seamaster Professional Review

I agree with everything you said, John. In fact, today I happened to be in a jewelry store that sold Rolex watches, and I was amazed at how crappy the Rolex Submariner felt next to my Bond Seamaster (2531.80.00). The bracelet and clasp were far inferior (they felt like something worthy of a cheap Seiko, not a watch costing $3,900). Further, the Submariner model I looked at just didn't look as classy as the Omega. That God-awful cyclops over the date makes the watch look like something an 80 year old with bad vision would need. It looks absurd on a watch selling for $3,9000. Then, to add insult to injury, Rolex will only discount 10% at the most. For the life of me I just cannot see what could possibly make such an ugly watch worth more than twice the cost of my Seamaster.

The model you bought I'm considering to be my next Omega. The bracelet is a sufficiently different from my Bond model and the black dial adds a nice touch. My experience with the Rolex today has made me an Omega man for life.
