As a followup, I went to the Omega authorized repair center in San Francisco, CA today. They are downtown, near Macy's Union Square and in the same building as Shreve Jewelry at 210 Post St. They did quite a good job and were very quick (while I waited). I had to have a pin locked back in on my Omega Seamaster and also needed to have it cleaned under the class. There was some green stuff around one part of the inside of the bezel. They service guy told me that it was probably adhesive left over from the assembling of the watch that may have been missed at the factory. Anyways, I can reommend this place. If anyone needs the number, email me.
On the other hand, stay away from Davidson & Licht Jewelry in Walnut Creek, CA. They are extremely rude and unhelpful. I went to them first (they are Omega authorized) and they told me flat out that they will absolutely not work on a watch that was purchased from a website. (In my case, the watch was bought from ashford.com). The guy there furthermore went on to tell me that, 'people are stupid to buy from websites'. Come on, what an idiot. Given his condescending attitude problem, I would certainly NEVER buy ANYTHING from Davidson & Licht Jewelry! The are terrible!
