Re: Watches - Tag/Rolex - Advice/Info????

:Stay away from Tag!! They are hardly better than Fossil in my opinion. The Rolex sub is an exceptional choice and is built with the toughest stainless steel in the business. Yhe only problem is that with a Rolex, you may get tired of hearing people ask, "is it real?". My suggestion is to look at the Seamaster Pro which is Rolex-like quality at half the price.

lol i'll probably end up not buying anything. i
: have always owned cheap watches but they
: always break and i was thinking of buying a
: nice watch and keeping it forever. i agree
: that the tag's look better but i can't
: decide on which one - they have 2
: digital/analog combo watches that are
: realllly cool (one was in the recruit) but
: if i was going to spend that much on a watch
: I'd also like to get one w/ a big face that
: is really nice looking w/ chronograph, etc.
: Then anywhere I go the person tells me that
: Rolex is 10x better than Tag and Tag is just
: a marketing brand that makes horrible
: watches and will break and not keep time.
: Then I start thinking well owning a Rolex
: would be cool, I could keep it for 30 years
: and pass it down to my son, etc. and if I
: needed cash/money I could sell it and get my
: money back almost which I guess you can't do
: with a Tag.

: So I like a coupla Tag models, a Breitling (but
: I wanted to stick w/ the two biggest
: companies for repair and resale reasons b/c
: although I wouldn't be buying it to flash
: around, I wouldn't want to spend 3grand and
: people think it was a knockoff fossil watch
: or something) and the Submariner in
: stainless but then like some of the posts
: above I start thinking 3 grand for a watch!?
: I could buy a huge TV or mods or if my 125k
: mile Jeep breaks down I could use that
: 3grand for a better car, etc. but then I'm
: like this is the only time in my life where
: I'll have disposable income without too many
: bills (senior in college, full scholarship,
: RA so no room/board) so I don't know what to
: do - maybe I'll just give it up, not buy any
: watch and stick w/ the crappy watch that I
: have and just dream.

: But if I don't, where can I get the best deal
: in town or should I wait til I or a relative
: goes to NY or somewhere? I looked at online
: places and they have like 400 dollar savings
: on some of the watches but they say the
: serial number is shaved off, etc. so that is
: kinda sketchy in my opinion - plus
: idealwatches makes Rolex replicas but that
: defeats the whole purpose of me wanting to
: buy an automatic watch that will last a
: lifetime and b/c I like it. What do you
: think?

: The first is a Submariner, they also have an
: anniversary edition in Black w/ a green
: outer dial. The second is my Fossil watch
: which continually breaks and has tons of
: scuffs and the metal is chipping off. Then
: there's the Tag Heuer auto chrono which
: looks nice and classic and the last one is
: the Kirium F1 which is digital and analog
: (and looks kinda like my fossil watch) but
: the face is smaller and it just doesn't look
: as good as a normal analog watch like the
: other Tag's or Rolex plus I have to graduate
: to a big boy watch w/o digital lol...
