Re: How accurate is a Speedmaster?

Hi Michael!

I am very thankful for your comments..

You have given me some peace of mind and hope...

As I have said in my previous post, I will see within a seven (7) day period how my speedy behaves and I will post my results.

I'll start next Monday @ 6:00AM AST.

As a matter of fact, I am tempted to monitor it also for a longer period and will post the results also.

Probably something interesting will come out of it to help other list members now and in the future who might have the same concerns.

Thank you all.

I like this list! Oh yeah!

;-)

: For what it is worth, got a Speedmaster Pro
: about 3 weeks ago (cal 1821) and it is
: running about +6.5s/day. Two comments: 1. In
: poking around about speedmasters, someone
: posted that they tend to run +8 to
: +12s(sorry - don't have the link)

: 2. I got a JLC Reverso last year. All new
: mechanical watches require a break in
: period. This one ran +15 to +30s for about 4
: months Traditional WISdom is that you
: shouldn't get too worried until it has had
: at least a couple of months to distribute
: the oils around. My JLC now runs at about
: +2s/day. So, give it a little time to get
: used to you.

: Good luck - nice watch!.
