: please help a new guy

I've been a guy for over 40 years, be glad to help a new one.

: My concern/question is this: On Omega forums I
: read only praise of Omegas, but when reading
: Rolex forums, I see some of the same names
: stating that their Rolex has never failed
: them like their Omegas do.

I know of one specific person who you might be describing. No idea what the details of his situation are, only that he seems to be quite unique in having had an ongoing problem with leaks on his Omega but not his Rolex watches. Have not seen others having this difficulty. Rolex does use a different mix of steel, and it is not unheard of that different materials interact differently with people -- causing odd effects unique to that wearer.

I myself have Rolex and Omega watches. Found both to be equally good (if you exclude my wife's ladies Rolex, which was a whopping dissapointment).

So I see no need to be concerned. There will always be a tiny number of people who have inexplicably bad experiences with any product.
