There is such an enjoyment to be gathered from tinkering with mechanical timepieces. Lately, I have been tinkering with the timing on a 90 year old Junghans clock that I pried out of my old man's house. I explained to him that being 33, I was due for one of his clocks. Winding it, adjusting the timing, hearing it run, it's just a pleasure. But really, it is an escape from the utter lack of character in electronics. Even though it is fun to find that degree of accuracy, it isn't so much the accuracy that is important. Mostly it is the chasing of that accuracy. Now if only I had an Omega pie pan land on my lap for free so I could play with it.
