Cleaning bracelet

I am a new owner of a Ti SM Chrono Diver which I purchased from a private seller. It's amazing. I used to clean my old watch bracelet with an old toothbrush and some liquid hand soap to get between the links. Does anyone think this would be harmful to the finish of my new watch? I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts and am looking forward to any replies. Also, the serial number starts with a 485. Does anyone know approx. when the watch was made?
