Not necessarily a requirement of Omega, tho'.
*Every* single authorised [high street] Omega dealer I took my girlfriends 2284.50.50 into for a simple battery change uttered the following:
"We'll have to send it away, 4-6 weeks, about £40".
Always the reason given was the lack of "specialist gear" - pressure testers to you and I.
One of them suggested that I use the watch repairman in the Debenhams [established high street dept store chain] opposite.
He has a pressure tester, so I did...
