Hate to break the news to ya Rake

I found Diamond Depot with that price and free shipping at the beggining of December. My wife ordered it for me for Christmas. It came in two days. She wrapped it and put it under the tree where it sat for 3 weeks with drule all over it. Christmas morning came and I finally had my Omega Seamaster Professional "James Bond". It was beautifull. Couple of days later I was trying to find the Serial Number so I could make sure it was insured. I looked, and Posted questions on the boards as to where to find the SN. I even took it to a Jeweler who said he was 100% sure the SN was on the inside of the case. I finally called Diamond Depot and asked where I would find the SN. No one could/would tell me where it was. Finally I spoke to the Customer Service Manager who told me the SN HAD BEEN REMOVED by her distributer to conceal their identity.

Now, I must say, she was very accomodating with me returning the piece, even offering to find one with SN and offering to pay for return shipping and insurance - about $20. She indicated that DD had just been sold, and she worked for the new owners. She said: "Frankly, this really leaves a bad taste in my mouth" and "I just found out about this yesterday". I have no reason to doubt that. DD used to be in NJ and the return address was in FL. She said they were just putting together their new warehouse.

I chose to get a refund. I don't know yet if my wife's credit card has been credited. My watch was delivered back to them last Tuesday. If you decide to deal with them, please, make sure you are getting what you pay for. I also suggest using a credit card to make the purchase, that way if you feel you didn't get what you paid for, you can file a dispute with the card company. A lot more protection that way. BTW I just received my new X-33 Speedmaster Pro this morning and love it.

Sounds like you are doing a good job of researching. I wish I had done as well. Keep it up.
