Re: SMP gains/loses time
In Response To: Re: SMP gains/loses time ()

While 8 seconds/day slow is a bit outside the specification, I would give it another month or so to see if continued break in changes the performance before having anyone touch it. In addition, a better gauge of your watches performace would be to wear it 24/7 for a while. This would eliminate the effect of overnight positioning. Assuming the 24/7 performance is acceptable, you can experiment positioning your watch in a variety of ways overnight in order to compensate.

: Mark,

: Thank you for your thoughts.
: My SMP Auto (full size) is 2 months old and
: starts to ‘break in’ now.
: During the first two weeks it was in line with
: the atomic clock that I use on my PC.

: After that it stopped during a lazy long
: weekend so I had to reset and wind it up. It
: started to lose time after this stopping
: ‘incident’. It lost approx 8sec/day. Is it a
: typical behavior?

: I wore it for 13 hours per day and just left it
: rest with ‘face’ up then.

: Now I wear it for 13 hours and leave it ‘face’
: down during the night and by doing this the
: average time loss is 3.5 sec per day
: measured on a weekly basis.

: Cheers
: SAPH
