Yes... I am perfectly aware of Omega and their water resistant specifications. However, does Omega provide guarantees for their specifications? If the number is theoretical then the watch cannot be replaced if it cannot withstand pressure from a depth that is less than the stipulated level. In this case, Omega cannot be accountable... "Oh, sorry sir you're watch is broken.. well, the depth rate is just theoretical you see..." This may not be good for the consumer. Theorecticaly Georgio Armani shirts should be made in Italy... but we can just label them as such even though theyre really made in Hong Kong...
I know a diver who has busted two casio G shocks with a stipulated 200m depth resistance by just diving at 62 meters. He had both replaced for free. Whereas Omega may just say, "oh sorry sir, warranty period is over... got to show me the money..."
