close call!

I went out tonight to work on my car (putting in a new exhaust system) and carefully took off my 3 week old bond and wrapped it in a clean rag and put it on the workbench. Well, I was working with my two boys, and we got in a tight spot and I grabbed the rag on the bench and listened to the sickening sound of a fine watch hitting the concrete floor. Sounded like it landed on the crystal. I slowly walked over and picked it up and it had hit on its side, just south of the helium release valve. Other than about a half dozen small pits (no dents) in the case it seems to be ok.

I seem to do more damage to things by being careful than I do by just wearing them. I lost my late father's wedding ring by taking it off before I played baseball. Maybe there is a lesson here!

In any case, I am one lucky Omega owner!

Tim
