Back in the late 1960s and 1970s, Omega made movements that they sold for other companies to make cases to sell them in. This was particularly where 14K gold Omegas came from -- Omega wouldn't bothger with 14K at the factory, so companies in the USA and other places bought Omega movements and made cases similar to -- or sometimes rather different from -- Omega factory styles.

By the 1980s, this was realized to have been a bad move, as these models were not controlled by the Omega factory and were dilluting the Omega product lines with sometimes less than impressive styles. So Omega stopped selling movements that way.
