Re: Water -resistance. The definitive answer.

seiko's specs are>
no water resistance = no water resistance, do not allow it to come into contact with water.
30M> okay for accidental contact such as rain and washing of hands
50M> okay for swimming, yachting, and showering.
100M, 150M, 200M> okay for swimming, bathing, and snorkling (shallow diving), but not for scuba diving. seiko has their own "diving" line of watches and it is absolutely imperative that you use those for diving rather than other seiko watches rated at equal water resistances. perhaps they are extra tough, but more likily they just include better legibility and a uni-directional rotating bezel.
