In Response To: before or after Christmas? ()

: Just wondering...

: If you were about to buy a new Omega watch,
: would you do it now - BEFORE Christmas, or
: would you wait until AFTER?
: (specifically, in regards to price, dealer
: discounts and product selection)

: Any thoughts or experiences would be
: appreciated.

: Thanks.

I bought a Speedy Pro late last month. I think the dealer was aiming to move some merchandise before the end of the year. He'd had a few watches in inventory for quite some time and was ready to get them out the door ASAP.

I was able to get one at a great price... Only about $200 more than the online "grey market" dealers. Plus, I got the real warranty...

However, the product selection may be waning. If you wait too long, the model you want may be gone.

Some dealers may be working just the opposite of mine... They may specifically order more for Christmas... and expect you to pay MSRP for it... Shop around. Ask guys on this site for good dealers. Hopefully you'll find a great price somewhere.

Good luck!
