Thanks for the approach. I may eventually do just what you suggest and continue an Omega tradition
without necessarily maintaining the antique watch. Still, I grew up with this particular watch carrying special value and I want to at least explore the possibility of keeping the exquisite solid rose gold case but with a quality modern movement. Impractical, true. Sentimental, undoubtedly. Once I get a realistic feel for the expense, difficulties, and necessary compromises,
I may well simply retire the old watch and buy a new one. But for the moment, I'd like to restore
rather than replace.
