Not true. Over the 50-some years OMEGA has made the Constellation, they have not always used the star on the dial. So that is not any cause for worry. With all the appropriate sounding numbers on it, it likely is real.

Main remaining concern with any older model is that it is made of completely geuine OMEGA parts. It would take expert inspection to see whether the real OMEGA watch was truly all-original parts. In rare cases, older watches like that might have been repaired with improper parts or had a movement or exterior part from a different model put on it.
