Re: Vintage Seamaster
In Response To: Vintage Seamaster ()

: I recently acquired a vintage seamaster
: "deville" the watch seems to run
: fine, but it stays about 20-24 minutes
: ahead.

If you mean you set it to correct time and it GAINS 20-24 minutes over X days, then it is running fast and simply needs adjustment.

: Also the stem can be pulled out to
: three different positions. What do they each
: do.

There were MANY models of Seamaster Deville, with various different movements inside. So without knowing the exact movement in your watch, any answer will be guesswork.

But determining it should be childlshly obvious. Turn the crown in each position and see what happens! Normally, the all-the-way-in position winds the watch. The second usually advances the date if turned in the right direction (if the watch has that feature) and the all-the-way-out position should set the time.

Shouldn't be any more functions than that unless you watch has a day-of-the-week feature.
