Realize that COSC certification is really more a marketing gimmic these days. It is based on a standard set decades ago, before mass production techniques ensured that virtually every quality watch made can meet the spec.

So the certification really is only used on watches where the manufacturer thinks the techie side of people will be more influenced to buy the watch than if it didn't have a 'certification.' Realize that most people are totally clueless about what the certification means -- they just blindly assume that certified *must* be better than non-certified. (Which is not true.)

Women have better things to do than worry about this kind of techie stuff that we guys fret and drool over. So OMEGA saves the cost of certification on the ladies models, since it not anything that would influence the majority of women watch buyers.
