Omega - seamaster - 1948

I have just come across my Grandfathers watch. It was given to him by Esso after 25 years of service as a sea captain in 1948. It is an automatic and is gold and has the information engraved on the back. My grandmother wore it after he died and then after she passed away I guess it was tucked into a box somewhere. My dad passed away a few years ago and now it is mine. I put it on today, wound it up and it is still keeping perfect time. I was amazed!I was just wondering what the possible value might be? The strap is not gold, just gold coloured links, but the watch itself I believe is the real thing. Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction?
Thanks
