I have both.... a ROLEX Datejust in SS/Black ,that I got as a grad. gift from college in 1983. I also have an Omega SMP Auto/Black (2254.50) , that is only 2 mths old, that I got as a B-day present from my wife.
I wore that Rolex 24/7 for over 20 yrs. Had to have it serviced 3 times @ $250 ea. trip.,plus 2 new crystals. It never stopped running , yet it didn't always tell the correct time either, but I put it through hell.
I can only hope that my new SMP will serve me as well, I think so.......
