Re: Yep....you win! ......what an ego...

Well lets think about it how many users need a watch that is water resistant to 1000 feet. Prob hardly any. Enough water resistace to protect the watch from splashes and being dropped in the tub would be more than enough for most. Yet people like the idea that there watch is "extra" water resistant even though it is not practicle for them.

How about a rotating Besal. Most people Prorb don't need that at all yet there it is and people seem to like it.

In terms of "teats on a bull" you may insist they are useless till you are blue in the face but guess what they are still there, and if they were missing the bull would look pretty strange... Feel free to go out side and scream into the wind trying to get nature to take them off;)

: Not true, really. What better reasoning can
: there be than to argue the uselessness in
: puting a "feature" on a watch that
: 99+% of their owners doesn't need and will
: NEVER use? So from a
: "practicality" point of view it
: makes no sense to me and is therefore an
: eyesore, i guess. (remember my anology of
: the "teets on a bull" earlier?)

: ......anything added to a practical and useful
: item like a water resistant watch (and
: especially a higher priced luxury
: one).....that is never used is simply for
: show and cheapens the appeal, at least to
: me.

: .....might as well wear a "knockoff"
: Rolex or Patek........if it's all about
: useless show!

: ......don't really know if most owners like the
: Helium relief valve there or
: not.......possibly many have never really
: thought about it. But IF Omega offered a
: version without it.......i'd venture a wager
: that new watch would take over in sales!
