: Hey, wasn't Zowie the name of the evil
: organization in the James Coburn 'Flint'
: movies from the '60s?

Very close -- ZOWIE was "Zonal Organization World Intelligence Espionage" and was the GOOD GUY organization in the two Flint movies "Our Man Flint" and "In Like Flint."

In fact, you are BOTH right. As mentioned in the About Us page, the acronym does stand for "Ziglar Omega Watch Information Exchange."

But also as a big spy movie fan, I got the idea for using ZOWIE from the Flint movies. The extra piece you didn't notice that completes the circle is that the first name of secret agent Flint in those movies is DEREK. He's the only secret agent that shares my first name.

But for the forum, I spell zOwie with the O capitalized instead of the Z -- because I want to emphasize Omega over my name in it. Plus it makes a more unique, trademarkable-type use of the word.

For bonus points, anyone know the meaning and origin of the word "zowie?"
