In Response To: I think this is even sadder... ()

: from the original post.... My question is, is
: the bracelet and clasp covered under
: warranty by Omega? Sweden (Switzerland)
: says yes, Lancaster says no. Who is correct?

: So, an Omega dealer has tried to sell an
: extended warranty ...... But even worse,
: Omega Lancaster state that the warranty
: doesn't cover the Bracelet & Clasp......
: They don't even know what their own
: warranties cover !

: Are they serious ?? EVERYTHING I hear from
: Omega Lancaster sounds more like a joke
: rather than a serious reply.

: I'm glad I live in Europe.

Thank you to everyone for your responses and just for the record, here are the actual emails I received from Switzerland and Lancaster.

1. Switzerland:

Dear Mr Powell,

We thank you very much for your message and your interest shown in our brand.

Every OMEGA watch is warranted to be free of manufacturing defects which includes also the bracelet. Should such defects appear during two years from the date of purchase repairs will be carried out free of charge in any of more than 130 countries.

We hope to be helpful to you and are convinced that you will wear your fine timepiece with much pleasure for many years to come.

With our kindest regards,

Özlem Kuleli

OMEGA Ltd.

2. Lancaster:

Your movement inside the watch is covered for 2 years. External components
are not covered. We hope this is helpful
