Did Your Butler Type That For You?
In Response To: The real things ()

I don't think I agree with one word you said. I don't own an Omega because I want to impress people or try to pretend I'm something that I'm not, I own it simply because I LIKE IT. Further, who are you to tell me how to spend MY money? If I can save several hundred dollars by buying a watch from a particular dealer, why would I just throw that money away and pay another dealer top dollar? My money is a terrible thing to waste.

Could I afford to pay top dollar? Yes. Would I? Absolutely not. Whether I make $25,000 a year or $250,000 a year, my frugality will remain the same. How can you possibly believe that simply being able to afford an Omega watch means that money should be no object? Whether I'm buying an $1800 watch or a $33,000 car, I always haggle and shop around for the best price, and, as a result, I have more to show for my money.

If you have money to burn, good for you. In fact, send some of it my way. I could really use a new Ferrari Enzo now that I've cleaned out my garage.
