Factory Warranty Is Important
In Response To: Re: Why? ()

: However, if you are buying a simply automatic

Not necessarily. I've read many accounts from people on this forum who bought watches that broke within weeks or months after purchase. You just never know when something will break.

: Gray market or not, they are the same OMEGA,
: the only difference is the price paid and
: warranty service (the gray market watches

I know that gray market dealers offer a warranty, but it is THEIR warranty, not an Omega factory warranty. If the watch breaks, they won't be shipping it to Switzerland for repairs, so who knows who will end up "repairing" your watch? With the Omega factory warranty, you know that you can send it back to the factory and the experts their will be working on it, not Joe the Jeweler down the street.

It's just my opinion, but (maybe???) saving a few dollars isn't worth losing the peace of mind that comes with a factory warranty.
