Re: Need Advice

One last question (I hope). I just removed the metal bracelet from my Seamaster Chrono Diver watch. In doing so, I noticed that there are 2 holes (for spring bars) on each lug. The hole on the "bottom" is ~0.9mm and the hole on "top" is ~0.8mm. It's difficult to measure because the smallest unit of measurement on my ruler is a millimeter. But, the hole on "top" definitely appears to be a little bit smaller. It is worth noting that when the metal bracelet is attached to the lugs, the hole closer to the "bottom" of the lug must be utilized.

My question is this: is the hole on "top" intended to be used for attaching a strap and its spring bar? I already placed the spring bar in this "top" hole and it seems to fit just fine.

The only reason that I'm asking this is because I've finally decided to purchase the 5.5mm straps from BANDA. I think these straps will be flush with the top surface of the lugs when the "bottom" hole is utilized. But, if the strap is slightly below the top surface of the lugs, then I'm hoping that I can use the sping bar holes on "top." I think the 8.0mm strap might be too thick because the thickness of the lugs (and metal bracelet) is ~5.5mm around the spring bar holes.

Thanks again,

John
