I'm not sure if they are still making Corfam under that trade name, but to the military it has become a generic name for the shoes (and sometimes boots) worn with the dress and formal (mess dress) uniforms.
The military still buys these is droves for their exchange services for military members to buy. They are not an issue item.
They are hot, sometimes uncomfortable, and are not as flexible as leather. In addition, they scuff easily and cannot be polished. Windex is often used to clean them.
