Re: seamster suddenly running fast

thanks zowie!

I have been going thru the things that happened just before i noticed this problem. The only possible exposure to a strong magnetic field was that I kept it on top of my tv cabinet. however, it has been there before. so not convinced about that. what other sources of magnetic fields can you think of?

also, i got caught in a rain shower in the same time frame. i have a seamaster mid size pro chronometer, and less than 6 months old. is there a possibility that water seepage could have occurred and led to this problem?

thanks again, the website is very helpful

: Sounds like it got exposed to a strong magentic
: field. That will make a watch suddenly start
: running very fast or very slow -- because it
: makes the moving parts act funny as they are
: now magnetically attractive or repulsive to
: each other.

: You will need to take it to a jeweler to have
: it checked and demagnetized.
