Re: Seamaster Problem
In Response To: Seamaster Problem *LINK* ()

Hey Eric, I've got kinda the same problem, just not to the same degree. The second hand on my mid-size SMP quartz model only occasionally hitst the markers dead-on. Most of the time, it hits anywhere from exactly in between, to almost dead-on, but I found it pretty disappointing when I first got the watch, but I guess I've learned to live with it. However, I don't have the problem of the second really moving eratically. There isn't any bouncing or anything to it's movement. You would think that a $1400 watch could do better. I've been wearing a Krieger Sport model ( looks a lot like the SMP )for the past 4 years, and it's been phenomenally accurate, both in terms of timekeeping (about 5 seconds slow every 6 MONTHS!) and "second-hand-to-marker." But, I've wanted a SMP for so long, so I finally decided to bite the bullet and get one, albeit a used one. So, although I am a little disappointed in the second hand-to-marker alignment, the sheer beauty of the watch, coupled with it's accuracy, has enabled me to overlook the flaw. Don't know if this helps you any, but that's been my experience. Hope you come to love your watch too.
