Re: new Deville
In Response To: Re: new Deville ()

: When you say 'chrono' I am guessing you mean
: chronograph (watch with stopwatch functions)
: and not just chronometer (watch with
: accuracy certification).

: First, understand that on a chronograph watch,
: the BIG second hand does not normally move.
: Look at the small dials, one of those is
: your 'normal' second hand that will always
: be moving when the watch is running. The big
: second hand only moves when you are using
: the chronograph/stopwatch functions.

: It usually takes 30-40 turns of the crown to
: wind the watch fully. But you should see it
: start running after less than 10 turns.

: If that doesn't do it, then you might have a
: defective watch.

Derek,Thanks for your response to my question.
my watch was found to be defective and I'm
currently waiting for its replacement. Given
your knowledge and experience with Omega, would
you care to speculate on why and how often a
watch of this caliber would be found to be
defective out of the box? I purchased my Deville
chronograph from an authorized dealer. Thanks
again for your input.
