People misread that part a lot. The rhodium plating is only on certain INTERNAL parts. It is done for durability of the mechanism.

But the outside of the watch is NOT rhodium plated. The watch and bracelet are pure steel.

It is realistic that you can buy *a* watch for that amount of money.

But you probably should be looking at brands less pricey than OMEGA or ROLEX. Even used models of these premium brands are generally more than that -- unless you buy low-end models that are 30+ years old. For something you can rely on as an everyday watch, you need something more modern than that.
